Description

Understanding the role vision and vestibular function play in sensory integration is one of the most routinely misunderstood concepts for professionals working with children. This course will clear your misconceptions and misunderstandings and provide you with valuable “Insight” into the relation between visual/vestibular development and sensory integration.

This course respects, and expects, your clinical and academic discipline for learning. Acquiring conceptual understanding of the material presented is an expectation of the teachers of this course. The resultant clinical skills acquired in this course are too significant to be given in “cook-book” format. You will therefore leave this course with the practical knowledge and conceptual understanding to appropriately apply that knowledge.

Included in the tuition are a vision screening kit, which participants receive and use at the workshop (a $45 value), and a CD-ROM containing valuable resources.

After taking this course, you will:
Truly understand the role of vision and vestibular function in sensory integration

Be able to confidently engage in fluent discourse regarding the clinical significance of the visual and vestibular process to child development

Be able to screen for the most devastating visual and vestibular interferences to child development ... and know what to do about it
