Dr. Don Bartlette

Dr. Don Bartlette is the author of “Macaroni at Midnight” an autobiographic profile of his childhood. He is a former social worker, counselor, and educator with over 20 years of working with minority children, abused adults, disabled person, and low-income people through city, county, state and national organizations. He is a Native American, married and the father of 7 children.

Dr Bartlette will share his story of “Macaroni at Midnight” about his personal experience as a Native American child , growing up in poverty, with speech and other disabilities, who suffered from school and family violence, racism, child abuse, and living in an environment of alcoholism.  

He further chronicles how one person in a community showed unconditional love, acceptance, and compassion in helping him overcome his disadvantage and be successful in life.

His inspirational story, featured on ABC's Shark Tank and Forbes, highlights what is possible at the intersection of occupational therapy and entrepreneurship.
