This course explores the development and use of clinical pathways in inpatient rehab, with a focus on spinal cord injury (SCI) and stroke (CVA). It highlights occupational therapy’s unique role, the importance of care partners, and strategies to align care with best practices.
Objectives:
Following this course, attendees will be able to:
- Define clinical pathway and its use in the inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Identify occupational therapy’s unique role in the treatment and management of SCI and CVA
- Identify key components of a clinical pathway
- Understand the role of the care partner when utilizing a clinical pathway
- Identify 1-2 ways that the occupational therapy practitioner can standardize and align care with best practice in their setting
