To learn about the common causes of vision loss Half of all blindness can be prevented through early detection and treatment. Today, there are 3.8 million Ohioans affected by vision problems, which if not detected and treated early, could lead to blindness. Because of the growth in the aging population, there will be more Ohioans affected by vision robbing conditions. The impact of vision loss on the individual, his or her family, and Ohio is a significant public health concern. Adult Vision Screening Training Program, you will be able to:
Upon successful completion of the training and a practical assessment, you will be nationally certified to provide adult vision screenings for three years and are eligible to receive vision screening equipment including: Adult Risk Assessment and Registration Forms, vision screening charts and assorted educational vision resources and brochures. A short (15 minute) practical assessment is required via zoom. HealthyEyes Program: enhances the services of Ohio’s health-care volunteers, senior care staff, and public health networks by providing access to prevention information, referral, and treatment resources for adult eye challenges. After completing the HealthyEyes portion of the program, you will be able to provide facts and information to prevent vision loss. You will receive a HealthyEyes Toolkit that contains a flash drive with many PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and materials to support the presentations. This provides you with the opportunity to be an advocate for eye health and safety! Questions?
